The association and Shanghai MF Sinoexpo International Exhibition Co Ltd will be organising the 13th China International Furniture Expo (Furniture China 2007) from Sept 12 to 15 in Shanghai's Pudong district.
"The success of the event last year 'Furniture China '06' had proved that China was an important furniture market," Wang said.
He added that the expo was expected to attract 15,000 overseas and 50,000 Chinese buyers.
He said the fair had attracted 61,290 visitors from 151 countries and about 12,000 were overseas buyers in 2006.
"The main exhibition venue in Shanghai New International Expo Centre has been fully booked.
"Additional exhibition space has been arranged at Zhangjuang Science Expo," he added.
Wang said Malaysian furniture manufacturers¡¯ participation has increased by more than 100% this year from the previous year.
To date, about 13 Malaysian furniture companies have confirmed their participation compared with only six companies in 2006.
Among some of the items to be exhibited at Furniture China 2007 are bedroom and dining sets and home furniture and upholstery.
